Yes, that is me in my collarless black shirt and sport jacket. That was even uncool, even in the 90's. And also yes, That is Bobby McFerrin of "Don't Worry Be Happy" fame.
This was taken on a trip with my High School Orchestra to see one of his concerts. I was way too over eager to meet him and when I got the chance to talk to him I blew it:
Me: Your great!
Him: (says nothing and signs my "Best of Bobby McFerrin CD")
I guess a "Best Of" CD is the worst thing to have someone sign. It is essentially admitting that you are not interested enough in someones work to buy a full album, just what the record label deems worthy.
Yeesh, well hopefully I will never have to collaborate with Bobby on a project... Awkwardsville!
